To determine its nature and intent Then out to the wide world of school Wild, untamed scripts unfold Capabilities established

Gifts identified
The parents must guide toward them And take time to observe and support Through teen years and beyond

Observing the drive grow inside To be a good role model Learning over and over
You reap what you raise Without fail it seems

And then they are off
And the parent is gone, temporarily, Revisiting the role
As days and months unfold

Pleasant, long days of youth Excitement and exhilaration of a career Praise and rewards and big houses
All have their place
But nothing matches a good parent’s State of grace
