WE GO AWAY QUICK
We go away quick.
The one laying next to you tonight
Gone tomorrow
Such an unending catastrophe
But you wake up
Denying reality for hours
But it catches up to you anyway
It is a body
You carry it around
It carries you on your observatory walks
Into the belly of the angry mob
Hungry, tired, circulating around
Until you lively up yourself
As the King used to sing
Then you learn to dance
You accept all, the nuance around you
Take a clear view
If not in a mirror, then where?
Why not Christen the sailing ship?
With the empty bottle of bubbly?
Draw clear air into your lungs
Think about that breath –
Where it came from
Where it went
When you finally let it go.
And if you walk further
Into the desolate reaches
Where few venture
And fewer stay
Then find the key arbiter
The one who has seen all of life’s sights
And know that he is you
And there is nothing in between 201113.1
