HUGE WINDS
Huge winds
And they shape the world
But not me
For I am immutable
Because the “I” is beyond material
There is no fabric
No belonging to any organic base
Reduced to electrons
Seduced by molecules
Built by atoms and co-valent bonds
Sourced from the elements
Hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and such
Until the chemistry was fully known
But it never touched me
Because the “I” is beyond the story
Which washes us in emotion
And boils us in logic
Desiccates us in the material world
But we float above
Each of us a spirit
Founded in love
Our parents gathered their will
Took us to adulthood
And perished on the wheel
Of fortune and fate
Now the long bow sings
An arrow pure and distinct
Punctures the heart
Of an unseen lover
Whose artery bursts
And sends its eternal message –
I give, so that you can live 210118.1
