ENTER THE DAY
Looked out over the Bay
On the other side
Lights of dream villas
Illuminated streets
Armed patrols, inquisitive eyes

Silent vehicles line up methodically
While the other side
Explodes in anxiety
As the streets darken
And the prevailing face

Expresses the stresses of survival While the tents conceal madness

Put a shield over the needles

Cover abject souls
Losing their human nature by the hour

Until acts of aid
Become seen as irrational
With a selfish motive or two
And up above
He seeks us all
Completing this stage of existence

With free will
To accept what we cannot change While maintaining a beneficial life –

Even-tempered in a social storm
Too many mercurial salvations. –

Just enter the day
Harm no one
The rest may come your way

Soft in the cold night
Or persistent, like the soul

Bringing his warmth into the world
