IN AN EFFORT TO ATTACH GOOD
They just had created a country Not just a country
Like some little burg in Europe With a king and a hundred miles But a continent
Thirteen colonies
Each the size of England
Except for a few
United in independence
Unalienable rights
Inalienable rights says Adams
The same meaning
If they come from a power
Above a King
Even if he has many castles and Lords And churches and docks
Even if he has an
Army, Navy
And bountiful good looks
He is just a person
Like anyone else –
Just with more money
But no more rights
Because God could not differentiate One little human from another Except by their very soul
And certainly not from some accounts With their vague denominations
And taxation regulations
So he settles on the heart –
He sees good and the opposite
Which it does no good to label –
As others would use the label
In an attempt to attach good to themselves
