WHERE DO THE ALONE GO
Where do the alone go
To be alone
With their thoughts and feelings?
Do they find that place
Anywhere and everywhere?
Able to stop on the sidewalk
Burst in a bubble and say
Yes, this is peace, silence and music
All at once
This is the spot
The curb or parking lot
Beside a hobo
Or merciless millennial
Seeking solace among the populace
Crushing grooves as she walks
A shimmy to the giddy-up
A shake to the stride
Yet, right on line
Atmospheric river on heels
She cavorts rather than walks
She winks as she talks
A feat complete
She has many men dreaming of her feet
Who she walked by
Became a jealous guy
Even though prior to her strut
He was content with
Whatever accompanied him through the night
But then she sauntered in
Him a leading factor
In the school of non-divinity
Found himself praying for mercy
