UNTOUCHED BY TIME
Wait it out
Each passing day a living dream
Eyes up, scanning the oncoming
A certain smile approaches
You can see the heart-filled welcome
You can feel the firm embrace
The same searching eyes
Some how sure the perfect day awaits
As if her beauty
Would never let her fail
Simply nod politely
And wait for the offers
They pour in daily
Each more full of promises than the last
Whatever the dream needs to be
He will offer it
Then the music starts
And the second verse
Is the same as the first
While the third repeats the original promises
She starts the spiral
Believe him once
Believe it again and again
At the end he walks off in the mist
Another world opens to her
She covers her beauty
With a unapproachable demeanor
They slide into the shadows
Her grace remains in muted form
Decades of humility
Have left her untouched by time 231128.1
