THEY AGREED TO POSE
Mother down in the crosswalk
Little girl at her side
Motorist pulls away
Blood into the concrete
Eyes upward, she leaves us
Our car stops to call
Squad beats us there
They scoop up the residue
Move them to a shelter across town
To a hotel, government run
For a night of warm high life
Maybe a week
If the Fentanyl works just right
Maybe an hour if it don’t
Either way, the streets of San Francisco
Welcome the elite of the world
Financial titans all
So many geniuses that the earth tilts
So much hypocrisy it spins in reverse
Yet the news is good
They agreed to pose
XI & Biden grinning
The lion & the Putz
One controlling a billion people
The other borrowing from his kids
Life on the Potomac
A view of the world gone flat –
Where did our swagger go? –
Down the sewer with the rat?
No, just an aberration
The U.S. will return
A bit meeker and wiser this time 231110.2
