The start assembling excuses

For the mind to peruse

As to why life has changed

And has lost value

No longer as enjoyable

Not the near perfection of recollection

Zooming in and out of the brain –

Ah, the memories . . .

So sweet to recall

They bleed the present of vitality

            As we sway in the breeze

            Flawed and fleetingly angry

            At the magnitude of loss –

            How certain everything sees in retrospect

            As if fate was ever watching

            Waiting to take a hand

            Observing the players and their emotions

            As they express feelings

            And try to evade oncoming bullets

To this day you dodge artificial intelligence.

Caution in posting what you like

Can lessen surveillance

But as few as seven responses

Can be predictive of behavior.

You will not avoid being observed

In all purchases and cash withdrawals.

Cameras are ubiquitous and served as proof

Admissible in evidence –

Presumed accurate unless challenged.

            Who has the attorney with expertise

            To successfully defend an accused

            Against clear photographic evidence

            Which can be altered to convict?
