Strengthening the Achilles

Stress and rest

Stretch by slowly lowering the heel

From fully elevated

To fully descended

Over and over very slowly

One foot at a time

All the way up

All the way down

Don’t over-stretch going down

Hold briefly at full heel rise

            Heal the emotions similarly

            Let yourself go up

            Human nature will make you laugh

            Eventually mood shifts

            Watch how it drifts

            Focusing on doubts or problems

            When not distracted

            Let go where it wants

            While doing so don’t damage others

            Eventually finding your

           even-tempered state

            Will lift others a bit

            Make this an easier trip

            That none of us asked for

            And that no one wants to quiet

Bask in a spotlight of sun

Let it do its magic

Let her into your life

Smile at those who have known you

Some, their entire lives

And let it be enough
