STILL SEE THIS WORLD
Still see this world
As finite and clear
A life span
Nothing more
With no identity carrying on
Comparing life and after-life
Another form of existence awaits
We can’t know it
However many who proclaim
To know the general rules
And those who claim specifics
As though essential to pass through
Some form of Heaven’s door
Waiting, armed with nothing
Except a clear mind watching
The landscape unfolds
You’ve seen nearly everything
Not sure you want to see more
Yet each week brings events
Small and big and in-between
That occupy the brain
That sets it freely working
Connecting all the dots seamlessly
Finding a sense of peace
At the bends of the road
They exist
You must adjust
Best done early
Keeping weight balanced
And the head still
A cyclist slaloming at race pace
But the mind is allowed to slow
