THE SIMMERING SUMMER BEACH
From then on we exuded warmth
The type of heat
That produces an embryo
Saturated in the brine of motherhood
Eventually breathing on its own
A whole live human
And it is the two of you combined
No matter any other circumstance of time
You and her merged and rebuilt
In a body to last another 100 years
So svelte and kind on the eyes
That mercenaries of all types swoon
At the very first sight
No longer immune to charm and wit
As long as Venus’s body is attached to it
And off we go
Siesta or no
We ride the Pacific wave
As sun sets on Malibu and Pt. Dume
A hazard climbing north
Mountains of stone and brush
Yet, we linger and look west
Build a mansion
Call it west point cliff
As if it was magical
As in Linda
And all that could ever be existed there
Under towering trees
Above a resolute bay
That moderates the moods
Of melting snow
And the simmering summer beach
