SHE IS ANOTHER MONA LISA

She is another Mona Lisa

Poised with enigmatic smile

Unsure whether pure joy subdued

Or world weary but wise

            Amber dress and hazel eyes

            Enough excess beauty

That it rips from her thighs

            A trail of lustful dreams

            Glisten on the granite

            Sidewalks, pearls and shorelines

            All receive her gifts

Everywhere she goes

Ribbons of wit

Cascade to her ears

She’s accustomed to it

            Who could tell

            In their Arctic reserve

            Which of the men passing

            Had their hearts swerve

Drawn to a flame

As the erotic moth

Seeks progeny and fame

Until reminded of life

And the love of a wife

Who is not keen on such release

Better to know the man fully

            Trust him very well

            Than have the “better” man

            Who drives her to Hell

Bent to secure

Diamonds and land

But still can think

Can understand
