REASONS
Recognizing the life force
That kicks in when under threat
From a well of infinite depth
Producing the needed liquid
That propels each of us forward
With little personal mottos
Like, “Just keep going”
Or, “Let all anger subside”
Enough push to get us through
Energy to heal and continue
And then the world comes into view
All the suffering people
In the throes of anxiety and poverty
Caused by . . . you wonder . . .
Are there reasons?
And the mind reels
Imagine . . . no reasons.
Well, that upsets the cart
In fact, sends it tumbling
Down the cliff, into the sea . . .
No reasons . . . how could that be?
We are not quite as significant
As our egos make us out to be.
You can con the girl
With your patter and bio
But the truth is
What you didn’t say
And you know it
So you charmed no one
And got away with it
Efforts are grounded in cause and effect.
Take away causation, eliminate action
Cause mass confusion, retain power
