As a mountain climber studies his route
Foreseeing traps and false openings
Not proceeding blindly with confidence
But prudently with risks assessed
The wise financial custodian
Studies and evaluates risk vs. reward
And for the climber
The risk can be fatal
Whereas loss of money
Can bring about pain but is rarely terminal
As health risks are undertaken
The wise human weighs the benefits of actions.
Activities, diet, associates and occupations
All effect joy of life and longevity
And should be carefully judged.
Perhaps save great risks for your 90’s
Perhaps the reward so great to you
That you undertake risk early in life
Beyond gratitude for existence,
Compounded daily
Interest paid nightly,
There are hope and love and charity.
Each of us our own judge and jury
With eyes open enough
To see all the evidence
And know all the facts
