INTO LIGHT

Leaving the land of philosophy

Land of endless belief

One microcosm of insanity

Following ghosts and figments

Into the night

Perhaps right into

The heart of the spirit

Its white light

Which will lead

To endless impervious illumination

After this particular episode

On the specific planet

On which you can imagine anything

And have no penalty

Except perhaps doubt

Unsure ultimately, whether your imaginings

Carry weight of truth

In these seeds of skepticism

            To the case

There is extinguishment of the flame

            Life, having left, stays gone

            Nothing returns

No eternal self exists to suffer

            Or to reap reward.

            Each day here, thus

            All you have

            Along with hope and expectation

            Of more joyous days

            Filled with whatever thoughts

            Of completion or the opposite

            That you choose to bring.
