HER OWN SENSE
Each with her own lease
Of style, grace and accord –
Ways of letting you see
Her mind in its active mode
Which brings up the image –
Conjures the visions –
Of who she is when no camera films
And no tape can be heard
Of the sensitive moments that occur
In the life of beautiful woman
One with the massive male
Whose speed and size alarm her
Even her quick mind
Cannot snatch an arrow in mid-flight
Nor soar to the rim
From 15 feet out
The body hewn from hormones
Evolved over millennia
To catch prey and elude predators
And defend the female
Against all attackers
Else, what is he? –
Except genetically dead.
No sons, no daughters,
Chromosomes eliminated
Here in the docile 20’s
Not so roaring
As a hundred years ago
The testosterone lower
The ideals diminished
Money rules and money begets money
But the genes need both boy and girl
To act in concert and execute their roles
