GOLDEN EQUITIES
Could live it out whole again
Full of every nuance love provides
When you wake and she is there
And that, young or old, or in between
Is it, in fact, so dream
Pursue the implausible
Capture the idea of indelible
As there she is waiting and you, looking
And then what happens is so unique
It blisters the pages
It makes fraudulent all other claims
To insight, epiphany or not
Such that this cycle does not conclude.
It is not an end or starting point.
We are mid-way across the Pacific
It is vast, immense, indecipherable
Until an island emerges.
Must be a mountain immense
To erupt in the middle of the ocean
Saying “land here”
And we do
One American, one Asian
Remarkable Eurasian child
Born on a dream
While the parents played out a mystery.
Who will they be?
Another whirl of the roulette table
Another color, another number
But it all adds up the same
The house wins
Beauty is brief
And golden equities are bequeathed
