DON’T GRASP AT THE REINS TOO TIGHTLY
Don’t grasp at the reins too tightly
You might want the horse
To have some voice in the matter
It’s his life too
These narrow paths
Unnumbered, unmarked
Continue on
Over one mountain
Through a pass
We find another
Even more treacherous
Injury, infirmity crop up
Indignant we have denial
Then open ourselves
To the chance
That presents itself today
Open to the victory
That is possible
As eyes see
Just what they see
No conditioning in between
Sit beside the road
Or in a pagoda sipping tea
It doesn’t matter
As long as preconceptions don’t linger
Immerse in the mental tidal pool
That which washes over us
As we sit inside our jewel
Our bodies radiating light
A spectrum of well being
As God puts it right
We are the best we can be
Needing nothing ultimately
