CONTINUUM
Once a nation of white and black
Now so many shades
They form a continuum
From the deepest of Africa
To pale Norway
From every continent
From every country
We have been so mixed
Identities will soon not be color based.
Nationalities tossed and stirred –
Forms of government hybridized.
Independence of the individual
Has been mired in group identities –
Affirmative action benefitting one color
At a cost to another color.
Borrowers of student loans another group.
Supreme Court says no –
Not Constitutional via the 14th Amendment –
Violation of the equal protection clause.
The individual again becomes primary. –
Groups now too contrived
Too political, too much money to ignore.
Go back to Congress and pass a law –
Not just an executive order
By the ingrained bureaucracy.
But power seekers will not rest.
They find another way to skin
The ideological cat.
Turning money and power to votes is
Too enticing to avoid for some.
We wait in blind anticipation. –
Winter will bring cold weather
And more “emergency” rules from the principal.
