CONSEQUENCES OF NEGLECT
This is a quiet wilderness
Waiting for the deep night
When missiles fly
And children weep
And the whole world watches
While Gaza pleads
Yet gets no relief
As though righteousness
Has no limits
But it does.
As the U.S. says no –
Let them bomb.
And Great Britain – emphasis “great”
Abstains –
As though untouched by the whole thing –
“Nasty rebels, ukk”
As we wait for justice for dead Jews
Who cannot come back –
Even if they wanted to
How many new deaths are warranted
When they allowed the threat to build
And failed to contain the threat.
We are mystical creatures
Always imagining our permanence
Yet smiling knowingly
As those we know perish
While we carry on
So to the last dreamer standing
Walking wall and fluid with grace
I say yes to everything
And to everything I wish grace 231209.2
