Blue dream

You spoke to me

Silent all afternoon

Then the waterfall began

            Words flowed

            As though a current

            Over the dam

            A sheet of torrent streaming down

Never again to see each other

Walking in opposite directions

On Rodeo Drive

            By then you will be rich

            And I a distant memory

            But the words of impermanence

            That we exchanged never die

Soon to be home

To the mountain again

Where love lives

Where we all have grown

            In the meantime a spirit

            Ascending without device

            Open to heartbreak

            Is to be open to love

So there is so much to be known

In this dark night

Illuminated by emotions

That shine bright

            You are in them

            You conquered your fright

All it took

Was a kiss from me

While in the mirror

You look
