Fell silently
Below the abandoned clock
That still circles the dial
But does not rule here
Whether Cartier, Rolex or Geneva
It’s beckoning bells and chimes
Have left these climes
So effortlessly patrolled
My steps sometimes light
Sometimes ostentatiously bold
Seldom under control or influenced
By arbitrary conceptions
Of when I should come and go
Perhaps a midnight date
While the tables start to empty
We can dance under the moon
Music still flowing
From the near-empty room
Where glass clinks
Couples exchange amorous winks
We slide together in the dark
No one can hear what we think
No one knows where we swim
Or if we ever drink
No one to care for or worry about
A free couple in love
With kisses dropping like rain from above
Dancing as they bounce in
The amber light of this full moon
Accepted as full
Although we know
There is a dark side as it rolls 150819.2
