ACCEPT THE FACT THEY EXIST
Accept the fact they exist
Don’t necessarily interact
Don’t let stupidity provoke you
No needless action
No undisciplined words
Self-contained if need be
Maintaining dignity
Not allowed to collapse
Things you learn on a long road
Happy times and sad
The ebb and flow of circumstance and mood
Silent water of a deep sea
Controlling temperature to a degree
No one able to push you
As you flex and bend and modify in the wind
Becoming the sail
Lifting up above sea
Who is that human riding the fin
That cuts through the waves?
Why do they seek to fly
And what do they win?
Perhaps a moment of grace
As they rise feeling grace.
Maybe a moment touching God
Free from suffering and waste.
Possibly unique to each
As they realize the common end
But can’t determine when.
A few afternoons unconfined
Breathing clean cool air
In a circus atmosphere
Alone yet totally together
